Here! I made you this milkshake!

    I mean, smoothie.

This is the closest you can get to a milkshake while still being firmly planted in smoothie territory. Which means it is socially acceptable to drink this in the morning. Like a peanut butter milkshake for breakfast! Dreams are coming true!

What makes this so milkshake-esque is the consistency. It is CREAMY. Like, it looks like soft serve right after it's blended. Maybe a Wendy's frosty? Prepare to use your cheek muscles if drinking with a straw.

Also, this uses frozen banana and ice so it is super cold in such a satisfying way!

Sometimes fruit- or vegetable-heavy smoothies seem more like a drink to me and not like a meal. Since this smoothie has oats, yogurt, milk, banana, AND peanut butter, it is filling! Not a smoothie that will leave you feeling hungry 30 minutes after you finish it.

Oats in smoothies make them so creamy and much more substantial. The trick to making a creamy smoothie with oats is to put them in your blender first and whirl until they're a fine dust. Then add the other ingredients.

    Author: Mandy Jackson

    Ingredients

    • 1/4 cup rolled oats
    • 1/4 cup whole milk Greek yogurt
    • 1/4 cup whole milk
    • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
    • 1 banana, sliced and frozen
    • 1/2 cup ice

    Directions

    • Place the oats in blender and blend into a fine dust.
Add the yogurt, milk, peanut butter, banana, and ice and blend on high speed until completely smooth, scraping down sides of the blender as needed. This should be really thick, but if your blender is struggling, add a splash more milk.
      Enjoy immediately!
