Happy 2021! It's a new year and I'm back for a coffee date! You may have noticed a coffee date hiatus after Baby Jackson no. 2. made a surprise early arrival and instead of doing any work, I counted toes and fingers and smooched chubby cheeks and asked have you ever seen a baby with navy eyes? innumerable times.
Thankfully all of the recipe posts were lined up and ready beforehand. Special thanks to Josh for eating chicken noodle soup, spaghetti and meatballs, and apple crisp all summer long while I tested fall and winter recipes.
I'm excited to be back and the first order of business is - of course - drinking coffee and catching up!
Very high carb - A rare cookbook whose recipes I want to make ALL OF. I've been baking my way through it for the past few months and everything has been eaten quickly and with great enthusiasm. If you're into sourdough - or want to get into sourdough - I highly recommend.
Baby items I would buy again - The plethora of baby items seems to get refined with subsequent children but things I've loved just as much this time around were this nightlight and this lounger pillow.
Picking sides re: Christmas trees - I'm officially on team before-Thanksgiving. We abandoned all resolve and put ours up early November and didn't take it down until early January. Reasons being:
- Christmas trees are beautiful and I want to celebrate Christmas for as long as possible.
- Christmas trees are too much work to only enjoy in December.
Will be doing this every year from now on! I love it.
A practical solution - This plug in plate solving the problem of sloppy outlets. Also good for getting furniture flush against a wall while still being able to utilize plugs!
Favorite books of 2020 - In no particular order: Circe, A Woman is No Man, How to Walk Away, The Unhoneymooners.
IKEA, always - We got these candlesticks over the summer and they are one of my favorite IKEA products of all time! They look good everywhere. They're available on Amazon (although much more expensive) if you want that 2-day shipping.
Happy 2021!
